Simone Biles biography and net worth

Simone Biles

Simone Arianne Biles who was born on March 14th, 1997 is an American artistic gymnast. With a combined total of 32 Olympic and World Championship medals, Biles is tied as the most decorated gymnast of all time. Biles’ seven Olympic medals also ties Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals won by an American gymnast. Biles is considered one of the greatest and most dominant gymnasts of all time.[5]

Early life and education

Biles was born on March 14th 1997, in Columbus, Ohio, and she is the third of four siblings. Her mother, Shanon Biles, was not able to care for Simone or her other children – Adria, Ashley, and Tevin. All four went in and out of foster homes.

In 2000, Biles’ maternal grandfather, Ron Biles, and his second wife, began temporarily caring for the children in the north of Houston suburb, after learning that his grandchildren had been in foster care. In 2003, the couple officially adopted Simone and her younger sister Adria. Shanon’s aunt Harriet, adopted the two oldest children. Biles holds Belizean citizenship through her adoptive mother and refers to Belize as her second home.

Biles attended Benfer Elementary School in Harris County. In 2012, Biles made the choice of switching from public school to home school, allowing her to increase her training from approximately 20 to 32 hours per week. She gained all of her secondary education from being home schooled, graduating in mid-2015. Biles verbally committed to UCLA on August 4, 2014. She planned to defer enrollment until after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro; in November 2014, she signed her National Letter of Intent with UCLA. On July 29, 2015, she announced that she would turn professional and forfeit her NCAA eligibility to compete for UCLA. In January 2018, Biles was reported to be taking online classes at the University of the People, to study business administration, and would later become the university’s brand ambassador.

Net worth

The most recent reporting of Simone Biles’ net worth in 2021 is about $10 million. This is according to numerous reputable outlets, including Celebrity Net Worth. But based on the different number of income streams coming her way, it’s probably safe to say that her wallet is growing at a rate much faster than any official records can cope with.

With major inflow of funds coming from her success in her field. The standard is for a country to reward Olympic success with cash bonuses to reward and motivate their athletes. Simone Biles just so happened to achieve record-setting success during the last Olympic Games. Back in the 2016 Rio Olympics, each gold medal guarantees the athlete $37,500 as incentive. A silver medal rewards a little lower but still hefty sum of $22,500 for a second-place finish in an Olympic event. These figures are based on CNBC’s report back in 2018, which means that the numbers for any winnings are somewhat considerably higher this time around.

Given that Biles already has four Olympic gold medals, a silver medal, and a bronze to her name, she already clearly has a lot more money than your typical 24-year-old. Add to that her handful of World Championship medals, and you’re looking at a decent amount from winnings alone.

The details of her sponsorship deals and contracts aren’t openly disclosed to the public. But given the massive fan base and following of Simone Biles, especially as a young, successful athlete at just 24 years old, it’s not hard to imagine the monetary figures to be worth her weight in gold. Probably more, given the fact that she’s of relatively diminutive stature
